Those were the words of my mother, in the mid-1960’s, as a young boy with an interest in poetry. Thanks to her wise advice, you can read my early writing, originally pecked out on an old manual typewriter. It Only Takes a Spark is a collection of poetry I wrote in my high school/college days.
